Tell-tale date format?

We have heard US blame Iran many time for the deaths of their troops in Iraq. There is however, new evidence to support the fact that the bombs used were supplied by the US themselves….

In a letter published in the New York Times on
2/26/07 (p. A24), M. A. Mohammadi, the Press Secretary in the Mission of Iran to the United Nations, attacks U.S. allegations about his country:

The United States media should not become the conduit for the systematic disinformation campaign against Iran reflected in a new wave of baseless accusations about Iranian weapons inside Iraq.

Iran flatly denies the United States‘ allegations aimed at deflecting attention from the failures of American policy in Iraq.

… The evidence that has been produced is preposterous (the dates on the evidence are in American date format — month first, day second — whereas the rest of the world does not use this format).

I don’t know what the facts are for this particular evidence, but an American date format on putatively Iranian material would indeed be suspicious.

As the Wikipedia entry on “calendar date” explains, there are three systems for ordering the three components of dates:

Little endian, from smallest to largest unit: 27 February 2007; 27/2/07 or 27/2/2007. Used in “the vast majority of the world’s countries”, including Iran.

Big endian, from largest to smallest unit: 2007 February 27; 2007-02-07. The ISO 8601 standard, used in computer dates. Also used in a dozen or so countries, notably China and Japan, sometimes coexisting with other systems.

Middle endian, starting with the month: February 27, 2007; 2/27/07 or 2/27/07. “Used in the United States and countries with U.S. influence”.

(There are also variations in the separating characters — slash, hyphen, period, or space — and in details of the date components.)

So a middle-endian date would strongly suggest that the date was written by an American, not an Iranian.

Mistaken Takfir

Comments

I would like to keep the ‘conversation’ going in regard to the article writen by the esteeemd Shaykh Nuh Ha Mim Keller and the Deoband / Berelwi divide that has cursed Indo/Pak relations for years; because essentailly we need this conversation to happen.

Below find a response to the paper writen by Shakyh Nuh. Curtesy of www.basair.wordpress.com

Recently I came across the first review of Molvi Ahmed Raza Khan Barelwi’s Deobandi takfir by someone we could all call neutral. This post is in reference to Sheikh Nuh Ha Mim Keller’s article “Iman, Kufr, and Takfir.”

The Sheikh needs to be congratulated for taking an initial bold step for opening the door for further dialogue on an issue that deeply divides the Ahl Al-Sunnah of the Indian sub-continent. It should be remembered that our role here is not to criticize the respected Sheikh in the way people on this website are presently doing. Sadly many people there are jumping on the takfiri bandwagon – as is their methodology and minhaj – and brutishly making extremely outlandish and heartrending claims.

However, there are a few points that have most likely been unintentionally missed by Sheikh Nuh in his article. A natural occurrence since Sheikh Nuh, not knowing Urdu, is limited in his access to books and texts concerning the Barelwi’s takfir of the Akabir. Sheikh Nuh has had to resort to brief translated pieces of “relevant” texts to write his article – this point will, insha Allah (SWT), become clearer when one completes reading this post.

If the points missed by Sheikh Nuh had been mentioned then the article would have been impartial, understandable and acceptable. I expect that the esteemed Sheikh will agree with me on this and I hope his Urdu-speaking murids will bring these discrepancies to his notice. In total there are three main points, among many others, that need to be understood:

1. First and foremost, Sheikh Nuh has failed to mention the seventh disputed Aqida issue between the Deobandis and Barelwis. This is a core issue and is still very dear and near to present day Barelwis.

It forms the basis of Molvi Ahmed Raza Khan’s declaration – as mentioned in his book Husam al-Haramayn (Sword of the Meccan and Medinan Sanctuaries) – that Mawlana Qasim Nanotwi (the founder of Darul Uloom Deoband) was an infidel (kafir).

In order to prove his point, Molwi Ahmed Raza Khan quotes a statement, which he alleges is from Mawlana Nanotwi’s book Tahdhir Al-Naas. According to Molwi Ahmed Raza Khan’s quote, the respected Mawlana Nanotwi denied the finality of the Messenger of Allah (SWT)’s prophet hood (khatm-e-nubuwwat).

In reality this statement does not appear anywhere in Mawlana Nanotwi’s book. On rigorous analysis of the book, it comes to light – as has been shown by many Ulamah in many of their books (all generally in Urdu) – that the statement that Molvi Ahmed Raza Khan quoted had been concocted from three different passages from three different pages of Tahdhi Al-Naas. These texts had been rearranged to give a meaning that Molvi Ahemd Raza Khan then used to level charges of infidelity (takfir) against the founder of Darul Uloom Deoband – Subhanallah.

The question remains whether this could be condoned as a “mistake,” a “mistranslation” or a “misinterpretation”? Could such a blatant mistake stem from the author of a book like Al-Dawla Al-Makkiyya Bi Al-Madda Al-Ghaybiyya?

Nay, the text used by Molvi Ahmed Raza Khan was a total forgery, distortion of the truth and fraud. Dear reader, is it permissible to commit such a crime of misrepresentation while claiming this was done out of love of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings upon Him)?

I leave this issue without comment. It is self-evident for anyone with a grain of faith to decide for him or her self what motivated Molvi Ahmed Raza Khan to commit the grossest of takfir.

2. The second issue is related to Hadhrat Mawlana Khalil Ahmed Saharanpuri.

Prior to discussing this issue in detail it should be made extremely clear that Hadhrat Saharanpuri has stated clearly in black and white:

“That no creature has received what the Prophet (Allah (SWT)’s peace and blessings be on him) has received in the knowledge of the first and the last, whether angel brought near or Prophet-Messenger. But, this does not entail knowledge of every specific detail of the lower world.” (Al-Muhannad p.38)

It should also be known that Hadhrat Khalil Ahmed Sahranpuri’s book “Baraahin-e-Qatiah” is not an independent book by itself but rather a refutation of a book entitled “Anwaar-e-Saatiah” by Molvi Abdus Sami Rampuri – a follower of Molvi Ahmed Raza Khan. Baraahin has been written in the traditional style of polemics (munazara), in that it contains both the text of Molvi Rampuri and then Hadhrat Sahranpuri’s refutation thereafter clarifying the position of Ahl Al-Sunnat Ahl-e-Deoband. This clarification is necessary to answer the specific issues raised by Sheikh Nuh and thus avoiding confusion and generalizations. Incidentally, Sheikh Nuh is under the impression that Hadhrat Saharanpuri is referring to Molvi Ahmed Raza Khan when in fact Hadhrat Sahranpuri is referring to Molvi Abdus Sami.

In his book “Anwaar-e-Saatiah,” Molvi Abdus Sami mentions an extremely outlandish and strange analogy as an argument to prove that the Messenger of Allah (SWT) (peace and blessings be upon him) is Alim Al-Ghayb (knower of the unseen). Molvi Abdu Sami mentions that since Satan and the Angel of Death know the unseen (ghayb) wherever they are, and since the Prophet of Allah (SWT) (peace and blessings be upon him) is of greater merit than Satan and the Angel of Death then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) must also possess knowledge of the unseen.

To support his claims, Molvi Abdus Sami fails to provide proof from Quraan, Hadith and also from the sayings of previous scholars (as there are none) but rather bases his argument on this strange analogy (qiyas).

Naturally, Hadhrat Mawlana Khalil Ahmed Sahranpuri’s response is going to include the analogy of Molvi Abdus Sami Rampuri and this would entail the mentioning of Satan and the Angel of Death. Remember Baraahin-e-Qatiah has been written in the traditional style of polemics (munazara).

Hadhrat Saharanpuri mentions that the knowledge of Satan and the Angel of Death is “ilm-e-muheet-e-zamin” (a knowledge that comprises of earthly things) – Hadhrat Saharanpuri mentions that we know that Satan and the Angel of Death have this ilm through proofs from the Quran and the narrations of the blessed Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Hadhrat Saharanpuri further mentions that similar proofs cannot be realized in relation to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

So Sheikh Nuh’s argument that “Khalil Ahmad Saharanpuri’s disadvantageously comparing the Prophet’s knowledge (Allah (SWT) bless him and give him peace) to Satan’s” does not hold true because Hadhrat Sahranpuri is not making a comparison rather he is answering an argument forwarded by Molvi Ahmed Raza Khan Baraelwi’s student who had made such a claim. And this also only is knowledge related to the lower world.

Sheikh Nuh says: “In sum, Khalil Ahmad Saharanpuri’s disadvantageously comparing the Prophet’s knowledge (Allah (SWT) bless him and give him peace) to Satan’s, the vilest creature in existence—regardless of the point he was making—is something few Muslims can accept.” Shaykh Nuh further says that “he badly stumbled in this passage. In any previous Islamic community, whether in Hyderabad, Kabul, Baghdad, Cairo, Fez, or Damascus—in short, practically anywhere besides the British India of his day—Muslims would have found his words repugnant and unacceptable.”

Shame that Sheikh Nuh was relying on translated sections to make his conclusions and therefore make the mistake of making inappropriate conclusions – Subhanallah. If he had been able to access the entire book in Urdu then he would have realized that Hadhrat Saharanpuri was not making the comparison – the comparison had been made by the student of Molvi Ahmed Raza Khan and that Hadhrat Saharanpuri was clarifying the matter.

3. Lastly and most importantly, Sheikh Nuh mentions a statement of Hadhrat Hakim al-Umma Mawlana Ashraf Ali Thanawi.

When Molvi Ahmad Raza Khan Barelvi’s comments relating to Hadhrat Thanawi’s text in Hifdh Al-Iman was shown to Hakim Al-Ummat, he (Hadhrat Thanawi) strongly rejected Molvi Ahmed Raza Khan’s “interpretation” and commented that he could not even dream of thinking such a repugnant (khabees) thing about the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

Hadhrat Thanawi himself said that if anyone was to believe and directly or indirectly agreed with what Molvi Ahmed Raza Khan had understood/misunderstood from his text then he (Hakim Al-Ummat) would, in accordance with the rulings of Shariah, consider such a person to be outside the pale of Islam for denigrating the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him). This is a documented comment of Hakim Al-Ummat.

In addition to this, with an aim of making his statement more clear and understandable, Hakim Al-Ummat twice made changes in the text so as there would be no ambiguity left in the text. Thereafter, the text read as follows:

Aap ki zhat-e-muqqadasa par alim-e-ghayab ka hukaum keya jana agar baqol Zayd sahih ho to daryafet taleb yay amr hah keh iss ghayab seymurad ba’az ghayab hay ya kul ghayab. Agar ba’az uloom-e-ghayabiya muradhain to iss mey huzoor sallalaho alhey wasalam ki keya takhsees hay?///Mutlaq ba’az uloom-e-ghayabiya to ghair Ambiya ahlehimussalam ko bih hasil hain/// to chaheyay keh sub ko alim ul ghayab kaha jaway.” (Bast Al-Banan — forward slashes mark changes made to text by Hakim Al-Ummat)

Trans: “If it refers to but some of the unseen, then how is the Revered One [the Prophet] (Allah (SWT) bless him and give him peace) uniquely special? Certain knowledge of unseen is possessed by the non-prophets also, so everyone should be called ‘knower of the unseen…’”

Hadhrat Hakim Al-Ummat Mawlana Ashraf Ali Thanawi made it also extremely clear that no one was to publish the old text of Hifdh Al-Iman (the one that Sheikh Nuh has published) after the changes had been made. These changes were done in the lifetime of Molvi Ahmed Raza Khan. Subsequently two books were written by Hakim Al-Ummat – Bast Al-Banan Li Kaff Al-Lisan An Kitab Hifdh Al-Iman (1329AH) and Tagyir Al-Unwan Fi Ba’di Ibarat Hifdh Al-Iman (1342AH).

Hence, to insist on this issue after clarification and removal of the statement is extremely strange. Keeping all these details in mind it becomes clearer that the Baraelwi takfir was totally wrong.

With regards to these “repugnant” texts, Sheikh Nuh mentions in his paper that “looking back, one cannot help wondering why Khalil Ahmad’s and Ashraf Ali Thanawi’s own students and teachers and friends did not ask them, before their opponents asked them.” This is a bold statement for one who has had to rely on selected translated texts in order to substantiate and critique the issue at hand. Fundamentally, Sheikh Nuh and at that other non-Urdu speaking Ulamah who wish to review this issue would not be able to give full justice to the topic by relying solely on translations of selected texts. The above few words hopefully clarify the matters involved, insha Allah (SWT).

These are briefly just some of the issues that spring to mind with regards Sheikh Nuh’s piece. Deobandis should be rest assured that the Akabir were on the true path and were not mistaken in anyway. Urdu is a must to understand the Deobandi-Barelwi issue. In the least, Sheikh Nuh could have rechecked his paper and the conclusions he had reached with the leading Deobandi scholars he is in contact with. We live in a global village, the Ulamah are only a telephone call away.

Finally, finishing off it should be noted that the purpose of this paper is not to denigrate Sheikh Nuh Ha Mim Keller or any other Ulamah in any way. A prolonged and exhaustive reading into the issue by referring to relevant texts and then posing questions to contemporary Deobandi Ulamah would have made Sheikh Nuh’s more decisive.

 Iman, Kufr, and Takfir

The Deoband and Berelwi divide is perhaps one of the most unfortunate, sad and unnecessary divide in the Ummah today. This issue affects so many people but I just pray that the efforts of the Ullema to unite these two schools and groups of people will succeed because if the schools of Deoband / Berelwi unite this Ummah will be so much healthier and powerful.

Shaykh Nuh Ha Mim Keller is neither a Deobandi nor a Berelwi, who better then to research into the issues that have been at the core of the divide for all these years. Shaykh Nuh has released a piece of work that aims at putting right old wrongs thus clearing the way for serious and open dialog between the two schools.

This is an amazing effort by the Shaykh, May Allah (SWT) (swt) bless his efforts and unite the Ummah. Amin.

Israel Hid Discovery of Islamic Site For 3 Years

jerusalem south wall excavations Israel Hid Discovery of Islamic Site For 3 YearsRAMALLAH, 19 February 2007 — Israeli archaeologist Yuval Baruch has revealed that remains of an ancient Muslim prayer room was found under the dirt embankment adjacent to Al-Magharbah Gate in 2004.

The findings, unearthed after part of the embankment collapsed into the Western Wall compound, were kept secret until now. The information was withheld from the world but had been known to some Israeli officials. The findings were revealed in an article posted on the Israel Antiquities Authority’s website by Baruch, who works in the Jerusalem district.

In the article entitled “The real story,” Baruch revealed that when the embankment collapsed near the Al-Magharbah Bridge, a small room with a roofed alcove and a dome was unearthed — a type of Muslim prayer alcove facing south. Some have suggested that these are the remains of a prayer room which was originally part of a school for Muslim studies which operated adjacent to the Al-Magharbah Gate. The remains apparently date back to the 11th century, the Salah El-Din era known as the Ayubi Period and of great significance to the Muslim world. This important finding was kept secret for fear the Muslim community would demand that the site, adjacent to the Western Wall compound, be declared sacred.

One of the Muslim arguments against the Israeli excavations taking place near Al-Magharbah Bridge is that the destruction of the embankment would damage Al-Aqsa Mosque. The findings published by the Antiquities Authority are likely to support that argument.

The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Sheikh Muhammad Hussein said that “this indicates that the Israeli excavations at Al-Magharbah Gate are not coincidental. “This is an attempt to hide Islamic evidence from the site.” Adnan Husseini, chairman of the Muslim Wakf in Jerusalem, expressed anger that Israel withheld news of the discovery for three years. “We didn’t hear anything about this,” he said.

The head of the Islamic Movement’s northern branch said that this is a proof that the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound is a Muslim Wakf. “The Western Wall — all its various parts, structures and gates and all the names these parts, structures and gates are called — is an inseparable part of the Al-Aqsa compound,” declared Islamist leader Sheikh Raed Salah.

The Western Wall “is part of Al-Aqsa’s western tower, which the Israeli government fallaciously and sneakily calls the Wailing Wall. The wall is part of Al-Aqsa Mosque,” asserted Salah.

Meir Ben Dov, an archaeologist and a Jerusalem researcher, expressed his astonishment Saturday in the wake of the findings. “Our irresponsible behavior has provided Sheikh Raed Salah with ammunition,” he said.

When you’re in a hole …

ismail patel 140x140.jpg When you’re in a hole …

Since Israel began its work outside the Moroccan Gate of the al-Aqsa compound nearly two weeks ago, there have been widely diverging accounts about the nature and aim of the Israeli construction work.

Initially it was reported Israeli authorities were carrying out repair works to the walkway leading to the Moroccan Gate of the al-Aqsa sanctuary. However, it soon transpired they were also carrying out excavation work beneath the walkway.

After Palestinian protest resulted in over 50 arrests, the Jerusalem mayor, Uri Lupolianski, suspended the work and said late on Sunday that the building work on a new walkway to replace a damaged bridge would be subjected to a full planning review.

This had the impact of calming the tensions at an international level but Palestinians, who from the beginning were concerned about the excavations, have remained deeply suspicious. Clashes between young men and the Israeli occupation forces, usually reserved for the occupied territories, erupted close to the walls of the old city on Salahedin Street within the illegally annexed city of Jerusalem.

Israel has denied any ulterior motive, to the extent that it is now carrying out the excavations with a live camera recording every second, which can be viewed by a live feed on the Israeli Antiquities Authority website. It has also welcomed a suggestion by its ally, Turkey, to send a team of experts to assess the excavation work in a bid to appease the Muslim world.

With such transparency from the Israelis, one is forced to ask why there is so much Arab and Muslim suspicion about Israel’s motives. The construction work has drawn criticism from many quarters and seems to reflect the entire conflict in terms of propaganda peddling and distrust. Is it an over-reaction?

To understand the response, one must look at it in its correct context. The Palestinians have very little reason to trust the Israelis and even less grounds to respect them. With a backdrop of oppression and repression, this is nothing less than can be expected. However, where al-Aqsa is concerned, there are greater forces at play.

For some Israeli Jews, the Muslim presence on the sacred Temple Mount is a travesty that they must endure on a daily basis. Yet many Israeli rabbis have re-iterated that the Torah does not allow Jewish presence on the land until the coming of the Messiah, and to enter the site would violate its sanctity according to Judaic law. The Palestinians, on the other hand, have spent 40 years defending the al-Aqsa compound, Islam’s most holy place in Jerusalem, from the threat of demolition by Israel to pave the way for the building of the third Temple. This task has cost many Palestinians their lives.

Attacks against the mosques based in the compound and the Palestinian worshippers within started during the 1967 war, and have lasted to this day. In 1969 an entire wing of the al-Aqsa mosque building closest to the Moroccan corner was burnt down by an arson attack. A precious pulpit dating back to Saladin over 700 years ago was completely destroyed. The culprit was allowed to walk free after receiving minimal psychiatric counselling.

In 1970, the Temple Mount Faithful, a group of extremist Jews forcibly entered the compound leading to the eruption of Israeli troop gun-fire against Palestinians. Fundamentalist Israelis have attempted to scale the walls of the sanctuary, laid explosives at its entrances, and blocked access using guns.

The compound has on innumerable occasions been stormed by Israeli troops firing tear gas and live machine guns. Such activities against the sanctuary and worshippers within have continued unabated since 1967.

In addition to these attacks, there have been unreserved calls from some quarters of Israeli society for the demolition of the Islamic site in favour of a new Jewish Temple. In 1983, the Temple Mount Fund was established in Israel, Europe and America to raise money for rebuilding the Jewish Temple on the al-Aqsa sanctuary.

When this is coupled with the excavation works that have been carried out beneath the compound by the Israeli authorities, first coming to light in 1981, which compromised the structural integrity of the entire complex and the buildings within it, it is easy to understand the seemingly disproportionate response of Palestinians and Muslims in general to the latest excavations and repair.

The fact is that the Israeli/Palestinian conflict has a worldwide audience with differing vested interests. For the Muslims, any possible threat to al-Aqsa, however innocent the real intent may be, will draw a relentless and passionate response, which has been witnessed over the past two weeks.

This compilation of traditions from the first generations of Islam- the Companions, the Followers and the Followers of the Followers- and hadith of the Messenger of Allah (SWT), is understood by the ulama to have been the work of Imam Abu Hanifah. It was compiled by his student, Imam Muhammad. As is his pattern with the Muwatta, Imam Muhammad comments on each tradition and places it within the context of the fiqh rulings of his teacher, Imam Abu Hanifah. This will be an invaluable book for those interested in the early sources of Hanafi fiqh rulings, as it will also for those studying the history of the hadith and traditions.

Afghanistan – The Next Phase

| Posted in Politics |

vivod11 Afghanistan The Next Phase

Afghanistan will prove to have been America’s third and final Vietnam.

France preceded the USA in Vietnam, and its defeat there was swiftly followed by disgrace in Algeria.

Russia preceded the USA in Afghanistan and its defeat there was swiftly followed by the collapse of the Communist State. To rescue France, de Gaulle – who saw that France’s enemy was not a State but a financial system – sold the country’s dollars and ordered the adoption of a gold-based monetary system. His argument was its rationality and historicity. It was necessary to depose him, and the mythic ’68 Uprising was staged to force him from office. The financiers’ place man, Pompidou, Rothschild’s cousin, took over as President and in symbolic demonstration of their new statal (leveraged buy-out) power the old jewish ghetto was turned into Paris’ most expensive real estate, and a new financial quarter was built at La Défense.

Russia’s retreat from Afghanistan led directly to the utter collapse of the Russian economy and central government. The financiers’ place man, Yeltsin, handed over the commodity-wealth of the country, lock, stock and barrel to a handful of poised adventurers, mostly but not all jewish, who became known to the world as the Oligarchs.

The American strategy in Afghanistan has proved more cunning than in its previous imperial adventures but presaged an even greater disaster. As in all these dreadful events it is the common people and the receptor nation which suffer. None of this could have happened if the American people had been able to understand and prevent what took place. Unfortunately, the Americans are the most schooled and least educated nation on earth. Numbed and dumb from media overflow, isolated in a Hollywood fantasy they called ‘The American Dream’, its people remain cut off from mankind, indifferent both to their suffering and the destruction of the planet.

At the heart of the American fatal sickness is, of course, as so many great 20th century thinkers warned, the disaster of the Constitution. The indefensible system of structuration and webbing of Committees and Councils and Ministries has reduced government to taxation, and security to a set of tyrannical practices from civic surveillance to mass penitentiary punishment. As a result the ghastly rhetoric of Congress is separated by an abyss from the inundation of New Orleans. Congress calls for withdrawal from Iraq and the draft-dodging President sends in more troops, declaring “I am the Commander-in-Chief.” Thus, multi-party democracy is itself, dictatorship.

The ur-phenomenon, the global epidemic from which all these miseries stem, is the irrational usury finance system that in its final capitalist phase is daily reducing a world population to a downward spiral of poverty and police control, and the planet itself to a new Ice Age.

The abolition of trade through its reduction into distribution, the stasis of banking finance which only is distributive in gesture, never in substance, and remains acquisitive in definition – these imposed restraints on wealth have resulted in a demographic world crisis which the political class are helpless to prevent.

The South American poor are moving into Mexico. Both are now pouring into America. Mexican restaurants are popping up in Canadian Inuit villages. Central Africa’s tribal mass, shattered by one family’s limitless greed which gives them the world diamond monopoly, has seen the Angolan and Congolese poor flood into Berber North Africa. Robbed of menial tasks by this African immigration, the Berber have flooded into the European Union. Horrified at the prospect of an Islamic Europe, as the indigenous population, given the abolition of the family, have a higher death than birth rate, they thus find themselves obliged to extend the Union to three impoverished countries, Poland, Rumania and Bulgaria. This in turn has seen a massive influx from them into Britain and Europe, the result of which has left these countries devoid of their base work-force. To fill the gap the Chinese are flooding into Eastern Europe as they have already done in West Africa.

Obsessed with the all but inexistent terrorists, Bin Laden dead and only a handful of people from the detritus of city poverty sticking Semtex in their shoes and fertiliser in their basements, and busy arresting innocent Muslims as ‘suspects’, the once renowned British Secret Services failed to notice that Russian agents were entering Britain with nuclear material to put markers on anti-State activists and rogue oligarchs. Only when one of the marked men died from an accidental overdose were the utterly uninformed Secret Services forced to take account.

The phantom ‘War on Terror’ which held both the Bush and Blair dictatorships in place left their countries unprotected from the brilliant expansion programmes of both Russia and China. As of today the largest and most ignominious enactment of the fantasy project pretends a metaphysical ‘War on Terror’, while in reality it is a desperate programme to hinder an Islamic renewal knowing that such an event will simply lead to an abandonment of paper currencies and the world usury system of banking. The strategy of the banking elite was to re-define the world’s final and greatest religion as its opposite, and to destroy it completely by making its mass of people accept that if it was not Terror it was a passive individualist slave Tolerance.

The epicentre of this strategy is today in Afghanistan/Pakistan – in historical and geographic reality ONE COUNTRY with a dominant Islamic Pushtu culture.

To veil the iniquity of the occupation of its people the USA defined its mission as a Nato operation, thus inhibiting the States involved from pulling out their troops one by one as they had done in Iraq. The protocols of Nato make it practically impossible to rescind an obligation to its Treaty requirements. More sinister even than that is the bitter reality facing the occupied country.

No country can bring Nato into its sovereign national court. No personnel of Nato can be arrested and tried by a country under their occupation. In Bosnia the Nato general charged with rape was simply airlifted to Canada under their protection. It follows from this that no genocide, no murder, no torture, nor any other crime can be laid at its door. It is simply above the law. The US ploy of designing their occupation of Afghanistan as a Nato operation gave them carte blanche for a totalitarian control of the country. With its quisling puppet in Kabul they could pretend to a ‘democratic’ framework to what was a brutal and destructive tyranny. No occupational army in recorded history since the Roman Empire but has set up brothels and prostitution to cater for its men. It would be absurd to suggest this is not being provided for the occupying army, bearing in mind US sexual approval of same-sex activity. Not one single TV station, not one press reporter, not one NGO has examined the matter of the prostitution of a generation of Afghan youth, to satisfy the occupiers’ appetites.

The hypnotic obedience of the other Nato States to this programme of lawless terror and destruction, accompanied on a daily basis by bombing raids and the slaughter of local populations, indicates that it is not just the USA but the European Union which is descending into the final stage of a failed social order. The democratic political system has ended in a multi-national demonstration of its inability to protect moral values, justice and its own law system since its own wealth and commodities nexus is outside governmental jurisdiction. The financial sect command the national government, constraining the political class to follow its orders. Promotion upwards in today’s world leads from the political class to the financial class. Wolfowitz went from the State Department’s Defence Ministry, upwards to his reward, as Head of the World Bank.

The promise of the NGOs and missionaries that soon Afghan women will be free to walk in public in Western clothes and dress in sequins and feathers in order to come down a staircase, bare-breasted in Kabul and Herat casino cabarets has proved surprisingly unattractive. The promise that the Islamic Madrasahs will be abolished and Afghan kids will be free to shoot their teachers and schoolmates like in the many Columbine episodes in the US has proved surprisingly unattractive. When an Afghan village is cluster-bombed the local population describe it as having had a ‘hearts-and-minds’ in mockery of Nato’s pretended claim to a policy to win hearts and minds. People are not stupid – politicians are.

There is not, however, an Afghan problem. The issue of the future in political terms is no longer régime-change – it is frontier-change. History IS frontier-change, and despite the dream that history is ended, history is events following events. Frontiers must change. While the USA indulges in its futile bid for empire on the other side of the world, Mexico is quietly regaining its lost territories in Texas, Arizona and California. Frontiers change.

The Afghan affair can only be satisfied from Islamabad. Pakistan is faced with three possible scenarios.

1] Disappearance. It is divided into regions, and these in turn are absorbed into a greater Hindu sub-continent common market. This is the banking élite’s strategy, prefigured in 1947 with the deliberate theft of Kashmir in the north, and Muslim Calcutta in the south.

2] Fragmentation. This is the Kissinger Plan which has already been pre-empted in Indonesia by the re-integration of Acheh into the greater Muslim nation. In Pakistan it implies separating the Pathan people to buffer Afghan activity, a Baluchistan given ‘Luxembourg’ independence, Sind as a functioning bank-controlled south and Punjab territory as the heartland.

3] Expansion. This is the dreaded third possibility. It would mean success for Pakistan and an opening to the north. It would necessarily require the removal of the dictator Musharraf, the Darling of Democracy. It would require the Pakistan Army to take on its historic and indeed Mughal destiny as guardians of the Nation. Its last element would be the disappearance of the British invention Afghanistan, with its absurd Southern frontier a straight line drawn through the Himalayan range. These two geographic zones have been one since Mahmud al-Ghazni all these centuries ago. The natural ally and defender of this reality is Russia and that can heal the recent enmity as France and Germany did after their war.

This holds the only promise of stability in the region. The USA, and indeed Europe should not be in the region. They should start paying attention to the reality that they themselves are quietly being annexed by China.
