Islamic Relief and the Orphans that need YOU

orphans Islamic Relief and the Orphans that need YOU

There are in this world today hundreds of thousands, if not millions of orphans and each one of them should hold a special place in the heart of the believer because Allah (SWT) (swt) and His Rasul (saw) have both directed us towards their welfare. Allah (SWT) (swt) says:

“Treat not the orphan with harshness” (Qur’an 93:9)

And our beloved Nabi (saw) said

“I, and the one who looks after an orphan, will be together like this in the next world”, then he raised his index and middle fingers together. (Hadith Muslim)

Islamic Relief has just announced that they now sponsoring 20,000 orphans in 21 countries worldwide due to the kind donations of many amongst us.

In 2003, Islamic Relief set up the Alyateem website which allows donors to search a database of orphans waiting for sponsors. IR donors have sponsored 15,700 children over the past four years – an average of 15 orphans sponsored each day. This truly blessed effort by the staff at Islamic Relief has resulted in these innocent little children being given the love, care and support they needed and deserved.

There are, however, little children right at this very moment in the world who are crying, who are scared, who have nothing and who are living in fear and they have nobody to kiss them and hold them tight.

Alyateem is a simple way to help them and assist them

“They ask you, (O Muhammad), what they shall spend. Say: that which you spend for good (must go) to parents and near kindred and orphans and the needy and the wayfarer. And whatsoever good you do, lo! Allah (SWT) is Aware of it.” (Qur’an 2:215)

This affinity between the orphan and the Prophet (saw) is expressed with great clarity in the sacred tradition (hadith) There is a promise of Paradise for anyone who looks after an orphan:

“Whoever caresses the head of an orphan (in affection), solely for the sake of Allah (SWT), a good deed will be written to his account for every hair over which he passed his hand, and whoever treated an orphan (boy or girl) with goodness and kindness, he and I will be close to each-other in Heaven as these two fingers”

The important lesson Muslims have taken from this well-known hadith is that to choose the companionship of an orphan is to choose the companionship of the Prophet himself (saw).

Log onto Alyateem and set up an account right now and you will earn your reward in Paradise with the companionship of our beloved Nabie (saw)

talkislam 1942 538342928 The Shamail of Imam Tirmidhi

Just a reminder that on the 6th to the 9th of April Al-’Allamah Shaykh Muhammad al Ya’qoubi will be delivering a lesson teaching the The Shamail of Imam Tirmidhi. This is a fantastic opportunity to study the complete description of Holy Prophet Sallahu Alahi Wassalam.

I have just purchased the book with Commentary by Shaykhul-Hadith Maulana Muhammad Zakariyya Muhajir Madni (ra) with the intention of using it for the course. I opened it up and it is truly an amazing book. My friend, sidi Muhammad Ansa pointed out, quite humorously, that you can tell that the commentary was from somebody from the Indian subcontinent because of a chapter entitled ‘The Curry of the Prophet”

Shaykhul-Hadith Maulana Muhammad Zakariyya Muhajir Madni (R.A), delivers a brilliant commentary on the book which is full of love and devotion.

You can purchase the book here

The Mashaikh of Chisht

masahikofchisht The Mashaikh of Chisht

This book which is presented to readers, contains the names and life-episodes of such noble Auliya and Masha-ikh whose existence constitutes a ni’mat (divine favour) and whose very mention is a rahmat (divine mercy) for the world.

They have reached Allah (SWT) and they deliver others to Allah (SWT) (i.e. they are both Waasil ilallaah and M?sil ilallaah). Most aptly does the following gracious Qur’anic ayat apply to these illustrious Souls:

“Those first ones who have taken the lead among the Muhaajireen and the Ansaar and those who have followed them with the firmest conviction of Imaan (Ihsaan), Allah (SWT) is well-pleased with them and they are well-pleased with Him.”

They were the true and perfect Mu’mins. They were excellent Muslims. In reality they were the slaves of Allah (SWT). They fully fulfilled the design declared in the ayat:

“I have not created jinn and man except that they worship Me.”

by Hadhrat Aqdas Shaykh ul Hadith Muhammad Zakariyya (ra)

The Dignity of Rasulallah (saw)

| Posted in Biography, Prophets |

View Comments

“Say (O Muhammad): O mankind! Lo! I am the messenger of Allah (SWT) to you all (The messenger of) Him unto whom belongeth the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth” (VII: 158).

It is reported in one tradition that during the Battle of Tabuk when the Holy Prophet (saw) got up to say the night prayer, some of his Companions began to guard him. After saying the prayer, he turned towards them and said: “Five things have been specially bestowed upon me tonight; these distinctive qualities were never given to any other prophet before me: -

(1) I have come as a prophet for all the peoples of the world, while before this every prophet used to come as prophets for his own people only.

(2) I am victorious over the enemy merely by reverence, an enemy that is a month’s travel away is overcome by my reverential fear.

(3) Booty has been legitimised for me and my Ummah, before, it was a grave sin to eat the booty; it used to be burnt up.

(4) The whole earth is ritually clean for me and is a mosque for me. Wherever comes the time of prayer, I can perform tayyamum (ablution performed by using dust in the absence of water) with the dust thereof and can say prayer on the same dust. On the contrary earlier people could worship only in their churches and places of worship.

(5) The fifth special distinction is this that I have been permitted to ask for one thing, as every prophet has requested for a thing of his liking. I have postponed my demand for the Day of Judgment, and it is for you and for every one who may give witness of the Oneness of Allah (SWT).

One can write volume upon volumes on this topic and yet it will not suffice, as Sheikh Sa’di has said: -

“The whole volume came to an end and life too reached its end and yet we are still toiling with the description of your first quality only.”

655,000 dead and counting–The real legacy of Bush and Blair

| Posted in Politics |

View Comments

Our brothers and sisters in Iraq have witnessed the ‘freedom’ Bush and Blair wanted to bring to their country and it has resulted in 655,000 of them being murdered according to a new survey. That’s 2% of the total population!

I seem to remember 600,000 being the figure we were told a year ago and violence has certainly escalated since then – so I can be forgiven when I regard the total number of deaths to be much, much grimmer. What amazes me is the flippant and dismissive attitude towards these figures; we have the idiot son, Bush saying:

“Six-hundred thousand or whatever they guessed at is just… it’s not credible,”

And the US Defence Department spokesman has been quoted as saying, in a typically cold and scripted way:

“The Department of Defence always regrets the loss of any innocent life in Iraq or anywhere else,” said Lt. Col. Mark Ballesteros. “The coalition takes enormous precautions to prevent civilian deaths and injuries.”

Precautions? What precautions? 655,000 innocent men, women and children have been slaughtered and you are telling us that you take precautions? There isn’t even a figure on the number of people that have been injured – maybe over 2 million at a guess? “Enormous Precautions” you tell us!

I am disgusted, horrified and I pray that Allah (SWT) (swt) ends this pointless slaughter. Blair may day dream about his legacy and his place in history; he should know Allah (SWT) (swt) is paying great attention to it and He is still counting the death toll and Blair will soon come to know of it.
