Prophet (saw) receiving salutations

Posted in Prophets, Tasawwuf

Allah (SWT) says in the Qur’an:madina11 Prophet (saw) receiving salutations

“Verily Allah (SWT) and his angels sent salutations to the Prophet. O you who believe, send salutations and greetings to the Prophet.”

It has been reported by Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas’ood (ra) that our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) said:

Allah (SWT) has created Angels that tour the land and bring to me the greetings of my followers. (Nasai)

Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) says in another Hadith reported by Hazrat Ammar bin Yaasir (ra) that Allah (SWT) has appointed an angel to my grave, whosoever sends salutations upon me, until the day of judgment his salutation is presented to me along with his name and his father’s name.

All the Ulama are unanimous on the fact that all the Prophets (as) are alive in their graves, the salutations that are recited next to the blessed grave of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAWS), is heard directly by the Prophet (saw).

There is a Hadith narrated by Hazrat Anas (ra) that all the Prophets are alive in their graves and they are worshipping. (Baihaqi)

There are many more Hadith stating the life of Prophets in their grave.

Hazrat Abu Darda (ra) reports that our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) said:

‘Whosoever sends salutations upon me, it is presented before me as soon as he finishes.’ Hazrat Abu Darda (ra) further reports that I asked: ‘Is this also the case after death?’ Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) replied:

‘The Earth has been prohibited by Allah (SWT) to eat the bodies of the Prophets,’ (Ibne Majah)

In another narration, there is an extension, ‘so the Prophets of Allah (SWT) are alive and are given rizq (food).

From the above Hadith, we find that the salawat is also presented before the blessed body of the best of creation, Prophet Muhammad (SAWS), along with his blessed soul.

A Hadith in Sahih Muslim supports this belief. In this Hadith, the Prophet (saw) says: ‘I saw the Prophet Musa (as) worshipping in his grave standing.’

Hazrat Maulana Qasim Natotvi (ra) stated that Prophets (as) are alive in the grave, and the likeness of this life in the grave is like that of our sleep. This is because when we sleep, both our eyes and our hearts sleep. But when a Prophet sleeps, his heart remains awake.

This belief is supported by a Hadith in Sahih al Bukhari in which our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) says: ‘My eyes sleep but my heart does not.’

May Allah (SWT) grant us the true understanding of Qur’an and Hadith, and may He give us the ability to send salutations upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) and visit his blessed grave time and time again, ameen

Jews storm Al Aqsa mosque

Posted in Politics

jerusalem from mt olives 1 Jews storm Al Aqsa mosqueOn Monday, scores of Israeli right wing extremists stormed our blessed Al Aqsa mosque in the city of Jerusalem.

They claimed that their attack was to commemorate the destruction of the temple of Suleiman 3,000 years ago.

The Al Aqsa mosque was attacked on Monday by the group of Jews who stormed the outer yards of the mosque, then conducted their prayers inside the yard, under the full protection of Israeli police and military.

When the brothers working in the mosque and those that were praying tried to stop the extremists from attacking the mosque, the Israeli police attacked them with batons and kidnapped one man identified as Mustafa Abu Zahrah.

The attack comes as part of the commemoration of the destruction of a Jewish temple, the Temple of Suleiman, by Romans 3,000 years ago. Israeli right wing groups are organizing the commemoration, which will culminate with a massive invasion of the Mosque on Tuesday.

Muslim officials and clerics stated that this is an obvious attack on the mosque, adding that the Israeli government is trying to take over the mosque, in order to destroy the mosque and build a Jewish temple in its place. Currently, entry to the Mosque is completely controlled by Israeli soldiers, and Muslims are not allowed to administer their own holy site.

Certainty [Yaqin]

Posted in Tasawwuf

View Comments

The classical Sufi doctrine of certainty involved three degrees: the knowledge of certainty (‘ilm al-yaqin), the eye of certainty (‘ayn al-yaqin), and the reality of certainty (haqq al-yaqin). Hujwiri (d. ca. 465/1072) discussed them in the following manner:

“By ‘ilm al-yaqin the Sufis mean knowledge of (religious) practice (mu’amalat) in this world according to the Divine commandments; by ‘ayn al-yaqin they mean knowledge of the state of dying (naz’) and the time of departure from this world; and by haqq al-yaqin they mean the unveiling (kashf) of the vision (of God) that will be revealed in Paradise, and of its nature. Therefore, ‘ilm al-yaqin is the rank of religious scholars (‘ulama’) on account of their correct observance of the divine commands, and ‘ayn al-yaqin is the station of gnostics (maqam-i ‘arifan) on account of their readiness for death, and haqq al-yaqin is the annihilation-point of lovers (fana’gah-i dustan), on account of their rejection of all ‘existent beings and things’ (mawjudat)”

In these three degrees of certainty, one clearly sees a hierarchy of states of consciousness, one which corresponds to a three-fold hierarchy of human identity: the scholars, the gnostics, and at the highest degree, the lovers.

According to a later Sufi, Najm al-Din Razi (d. 654/1256), “certainty” arises when one strives to become aware of the spiritual world, while living in accordance with shari’a. If one simply tries to use one’s rational mind, one will fall into mere philosophy and unbelief. The key to certainty is the practice of shari’a, which leads to the awareness that everything is a manifestation of an attribute of Allah (SWT). In the following passage, Razi discusses the nature of certainty:

But [in contrast to the mere philosopher and the heretic] …the possessor of true felicity nourish[es] the seed of the spirit in accordance with the law of Shari’at until all his senses attain perfection. He will then perceive, through his outer and inner senses, all the three hundred and sixty thousand realms that constitute the material and spiritual worlds (mulk va malakut)…He sees every atom in each of these worlds to be a manifestation of one of the divine attributes containing within it one of Allah (SWT) Almighty’s signs; he removes the veil from the face of the manifestations, and the beauty of God’s signs is displayed to him. [As the poet Abu al-'Atahiya stated,]

In every thing is a sign (aya) of His pointing to the fact that He is One (ahad).

This is the threshold of the world of certainty (iqan)…Then the pure essence of Allah (SWT) may be known in its unity, and the attributes (sifat) of divinity may be contemplated with the eye of certainty (‘ayn al-yaqin).”

Razi makes it very clear: in order to follow the path that leads to certainty and the awareness of the very “essence of God,”one must discipline and perfect one’s senses by means of shari’a, and one must be aware that there is nothing in existence that does not derive from an attribute of Allah (SWT) Almighty.

Allah is Beauty and likes Beauty

Allah is Beauty and likes Beauty

Beauty itself boasts about the beauty of the Messenger (saw)
The beauty of galaxies are only the dust of your feet
O Caravan of the desirous! Walk barefoot towards Madinah
The thorns on your way are softer than flowers

When Allah (SWT) Himself likes beauty, we can only imagine how beautiful He would have made the one whom He chose as his beloved. Hazrat Anas (ra) said that Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) was the most handsome amongst all the Prophet (as) and that his hands were softer than silk

“My eye has not seen anything as beautiful as you
No woman has ever borne anyone as beautiful as you
Pure from imperfections, as if your features were of your own choosing”

Hazrat Aishah Siddiqa (ra) is known to have said

“Oh Zulaikha, you only cut your fingers at seeing (Hazrat) Yusuf (as). Had you seen the Messenger of Allah (SWT), you would have cut open your heart.” She also said, “The sky has its sun, we have our own sun”

In another narration, we are told that Halima Sadia’s daughter Shima used to ask her mother to send her brother with her when she would go to tend the sheep. When asked why, Shima said to her mother, “I notice that the sheep graze quickly whenever my brother Muhammad is with me. The sheep then gather around where I sit with my brother, and both I and the sheep gaze at his beautiful face”

Hazrat Qurtubi (ra) said that Allah (SWT) did not reveal His Messenger’s (saw) entire splendour because the people would not have able to bare it

“How can the beauty of Yusuf ever compare to you?
He was the beloved of Zulaikha: you are the beloved of Allah (SWT)
Veiled in the secret of humanity is your flawless beauty
Unknown to all that you are part of the beauty of Allah (SWT)

“A dead Iraqi is just another dead Iraqi, You know, so what?”

Posted in Politics

The title of this post, which is a direct quote from an American soldier, describes perfectly the the attitude of the American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. Unfortunately, it also describes the attitudes of many people living in the west and their reaction to such news.

This mess, this disaster, this total catastrophe unfolding in front of our TV screens and newspapers is ripping up the moral carpet from beneath us to such an extent that we do not even blink when we hear that 50 Iraqis have been killed in one event. If it mattered we would be on the streets of London and Washington demanding an end to this insanely murderous policy of remaining in Iraq.

The article in the Independent did not surprise me because I know what the Americans are like when in battle, just look at their history in books and you will see a tale of gruesome murder and innocent suffering. You don’t have to go far to witness American terror, just go to YouTube and you will see random act of murder to the backdrop of Elvis songs and heavy metal tunes. It is just this type of arrogance in attitude that allowed US soldiers to commit such brutal acts upon the Vietnamese in the 70’s.

Watch this YouTube video, it describes how the American soldiers have behaved in Iraq

So what makes them think they are better than everyone? How arrogant can the British and the Americans be? They claim to have higher moral standards, a better and more sophisticated way of life, they claim to be totally free and have created a society that is so tolerant and full of understanding. They feel so superior to the Muslims that they really want the Muslims in this world have a piece of it. They are even willing to spend trillions of dollars in converting Muslims everywhere to their way of thinking…how kind!

The pity is, they do it by starting wars, dropping bombs on innocents, firing bullets, sneaky undercover operations like injecting drugs into societies, by killing hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women and children, by supporting and funding rogue regimes in Muslims lands, by creating an atmosphere of fear among Muslims who pray and want to practice their religion, kidnapping Muslims and flying them around the world to be tortured, creating death camps like Guantanamo and honouring people like Salmon Rushdi for slandering our holy and blessed Prophet Muhammad (SAWS).

This is what the rest of the world sees and these are the actions that forge public opinions about the USA and ‘not so ‘Great Britain. So they should not be surprised that the people of Iraqi want nothing to do with them and want them out of their country and they should not be surprised if they take out their guns and fight.

Reports in the US and GB still claim that these men and boys in Iraq are terrorists when they are not. Let me ask you a question. If the Chinese, for example, invaded the USA and started killing innocent people to the extent that nobody could say that they have not been affected by it and they were patrolling the streets with guns and tanks, what would you do? Would you fight them? Would you look at your family being torn apart and not feel angry? Wouldn’t you want to say, ENOUGH! NO MORE, and fight them!

The natural response would be of course, we would fight, so why are these Iraqi citizens being called terrorists all over the media? The truth is, they are the victims and is is the Americans who are the terrorists, despite what CNN or the BBC label them as. Allah (SWT) knows, Allah (SWT) see and Allah (SWT) is ever watchful.

he next leaders of Iraq will be worse than Sadam, I am sure of that, but unlike Sadam they won’t be able to hold the country together – it will be split along religious views and then we will again witness the classic method of divide and conquer, a tactic loved by all the imperial nations throughout the centuries.
