Lets help our Sister!

A young Libyan sister is critically ill with leukemia and needs funds to complete her treatment at Hammersmith Hospital in West London. She is a foreign national, not entitled to NHS, and her family has run out of funds for treatment. £150k is needed, of which £82k has already been raised. Criss Angel and the jinn fool the people

I saw this video of a guy called Criss Angel and thought i would post it to gage your thoughts on this. This is a perfect example of how magicians have been using jinns to fool onlookers for years. In this video the jinn lift him and carry him between two buildings and it looks as though he has levitated between them by himself.

Rabi’ah al Adawiyya

My Beloved

My peace, O my brothers and sisters, is my solitude,
And my Beloved is with me always,
For His love I can find no substitute,
And His love is the test for me among mortal beings,
Whenever His Beauty I may contemplate,
He is my “mihrab”, towards Him is my “qiblah”
If I die of love, before completing satisfaction,
Alas, for my anxiety in the world, alas for my distress,
O Healer (of souls) the heart feeds upon its desire,
The striving after union with Thee has healed my soul,
O my Joy and my Life abidingly,
You were the source of my life and from Thee also came my ecstasy.
I have separated myself from all created beings,
My hope is for union with Thee, for that is the goal of my desire.

Seeking faults in others

Shaykh Maulana Muhammad Saleem Dhorat was describing the abominable state of some people, that they constantly seek the faults in all. They disregard all the good qualities of a person, and zero in to a persons minute fault.

“Look into yourselves my friends, what are you?

Imagine a big beautiful garden, with thousands of wonders to view and smell. However somewhere in the garden a dog has come and relieved itself. Now if you went into the garden would you pay any attention to the excrement? Definitely not!

However, if a pig were to stroll in, it would miss out all the flowers and beauty and would certainly trace the excrement”.

Support Khaled al-Mudallal

full688837brad_israeli.jpg

Khaled al-Mudallal is a Palestinian and a Business and Management student at the University of Bradford. He is currently trapped in Gaza due to the restrictions on freedom of movement imposed by Israel. Khaled needs to return to Bradford urgently to begin the third year of his degree course.

Khaled returned to his home town of Rafah in June with the intention of staying only for a few days. He has a British residence permit valid until November 2010.

According to Israeli human rights organisation Gisha, Khaled is one of several hundred Palestinian students who are being prevented from leaving Gaza to return to courses abroad. Gisha believes the Israeli government is in breach of international law. The right to education is enshrined in the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The NUS Black Students’ Campaign,  University of Bradford Students’ Union, General Union of Palestinian Students,  University and College Union, Federation of Student Islamic Societies and the Palestine Solidarity Campaign are calling on all students in Britain to support Khaled’s right to continue his education and the right of all Palestinian students to access education free from the restrictions imposed by Israel’s illegal occupation.

What can you do?

  • Print and collect signatures for the petition and encourage others to do the same - the petitions will be sent to the British and the Israeli Prime Ministers.

  • Write to the Israeli Prime Minister calling for the travel restrictions imposed on Gaza to be lifted and for Khaled to be allowed to leave to return to Bradford.

  • Write to the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown calling on him to bring pressure to bear on his Israeli counterpart to lift the restrictions on students from Gaza, including Khaled, leaving Gaza to access education.

  • Contact student media to try to get articles published raising awareness of Khaled’s situation and the plight of Palestinian students living under Israel’s illegal occupation.
