Alcohol is quite a serious issue for Muslims and if it is present in any quantities, no matter how small in any products sold to them it should be written on the cover. Their religion doesn't allow them to consume alcohol at all.

And we wonder how people end up in an alcohol rehab center saying that they don't know how their life ended up so bad. I guess that if this matter has gone public, the label of the product didn't mention any alcohol on it:)) Why should be surprised? I for one am not. Buying snacks will surely won't help my diet get any better:))

Thanks for the reply. I understand your ‘personal’ standpoint and the need to avoid grey areas. Especially given crisps are not an essential necessity of life.

Thanks for the links. very interesting indeed! Shaykh Faraz Rabani said (in the 1st link) “it is more religiously precautionary to avoid, whenever reasonably possible” I ‘personally’ think it is safer to act upon these words of caution. allahu allum, but i don’t like the idea of consuming alcohol, even though the original properties may not be in the ingredients.
