Allama Anwar Shah al Kashmiri (ra) was an amazing scholar of the recent past who had an amazing photographic memory.

Mujaddid-e-Millat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi says:

“When Hadhrat Shah Sahib would come and sit next to me, my heart would feel the pressure of the greatness of his knowledge” (Millat-e-Islam ki Muhsin Shakhsiaat, p. 185).

Hadhrat Shah Sahib’s knowledge was of such a unique nature that it even impressed great Ulama like Hadhrat Thanvi. Maulana Habibur Rahman Azami would always refer to Allama Kashmiri as a mobile library.

Mufti Taqi Usmani writes:

“My respected father often said that Allah had blessed Hadhrat Shah Saheb with proficiency in all types of knowledge and skills” (Akabir Deoband Kia They?, p.44).

Hadhrat Shah Saheb was such that no Earthly power could distract him from his favorite endeavor and lifelong engagement: reading and researching. After reading accounts of his life from those who were around him, it seems that he spend majority of his life reading books and extracting knowledge from them as if he had nothing else to do. However, he was not only a teacher of Hadith sciences at Darul Uloom Deoband, but the Head of all Teachers (Sadr al-Mudarris as called in Urdu); he has authored numerous books, he actively participated in the Khatme Nubuwwat Movement, served the Islamic cause in politics by his official position at Jamiatul Ulama-e-Hind and raised a family of which his two sons, Maulana Anzar Shah Kashmiri and Maulana Azhar Shah Kashmiri, are well-know for following the footsteps of their distinguished father.

Despite all these engagements, he was always found by his students in front of a book. He would never touch a book without Wudhu (Ablution) and would always sit respectfully in front of religious books. Allama Kashmiri had high respect for knowledge and books, the sources of knowledge. If a book has notes on its sides, he would move himself to read the side notes rather than moving the book. What great respect he had for divine knowledge! As a result of this tremendous reverence for religious books, Allah favored him with a matchless knowledge and unparalleled understanding.

Hazrat Shaykh Muhammad Zakariyya Kandhalawi Muhajir-e-Madani mentions in his book “Virtues of Salaat and Salaam” the following virtues for sending salutations to our beloved Nabi (saw) on a Friday

In a hadith of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayra (ra), it is narrated that whoever confers the following blessings eighty times before getting up from his place after Asr prayers on Friday, eighty years of his sins will be forgiven and he will be granted the reward of eighty years of worship:

O Allah , confer blessings upon Muhammad, the unlettered Prophet, and upon his family and confer salutations.

Dauqutni (may Allah have mercy on him) has narrated in a hadith that the Noble Prophet Muhammad said, “Whoever confers blessings upon me eighty times on Friday, eighty years of his sins will be forgiven.”

A person asked, “O Messenger of Allah , how should we confer blessings?”

The Noble Prophet e replied:

O Allah , confer blessings upon Muhammad, Your servant, Your prophet and Your Messenger, the unlettered Prophet.

The face of our beloved Prophet Muhammad became filled with delight with the news that Abu Jahl had been slain at the battle of Badr. Our hearts should also be rejoicing with the news that finally, this man who ordered rape of Muslims women. the execution of 100’s thousands of Muslim men and boys is to be tried and sentenced at the Hague.

He thought he could avoid capture by sporting a long white beard and having a false identity, however, Allah has chosen this moment for his worldly humiliation to begin.

Antony Thomas made a documentary that was aired on Channel 4 early this week entitled “The Qur’an.” Many people will have formed different views regarding this programme. I, myself, only caught glimpses of this programme and the bits i did see i found quite annoying. That being said, many people have had good things to say about it.

Antony Thomas, the programme maker, is certainly an interesting person who has had a long “love for the Qur’an” that stretches back to his teenage days. Although he has this love in his heart for the Holy Qur’an he says he has never really considered converting to Islam.

I am a subscriber to the “Daily Mayo” podcast, Simon Mayo being one of my favourite radio personalities, and i was very interested to hear an interview with Antony Thomas about this documentary, his feelings towards Islam, Muslims and the Qur’an.

I found him very interesting, engaging and extremely honest in his approach to this documentary - even if i found some parts of the documentary annoying.

Finding this blog from Google will prove to be quite difficult at the moment because this blog has been hacked by someone and that kind someone has injected some weird code into it.

Google states that this blog may cause harm to your computer - this is not true, Google are just just getting tough on strange code in websites.

It seems that many websites are struggling with this problem at the moment, i can think of three major Islamic websites that have been hacked (Islamic-Relief.com is one of them) so i am not alone.

Linking straight to this blog is fine and also using other search engines like Yahoo is ok, it is just Google. I am trying to locate this mysterious code so it may take a while, sorry for any inconvenience.

If anyone can offer any advice i would be very thankful

Ibn Kathir quoted in his tafsir of Ayat 5:54 of the Glorious Qur’an, a saying of Abu Dharr (ra) who said:

“My Khalil (intimate friend, the Messenger) has commanded me to do seven deeds.

He commanded me to love the poor and to be close to them.

He commanded me to look at those who are less than me and not those who are above me.

He commanded me to keep the relations of the womb, even if they cut it.

He commanded me not to ask anyone for anything,

to say the truth even if it was bitter,

and to not fear the blame of anyone for the sake of Allah .

He commanded me to often repeat, `La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (There is no strength or power except from Allah )’, for these words are from a treasure under the Throne (of Allah ).”

This brother is actually at work and the time for Fajr has arrived…so he prays where he is, underwater.  Mashallah, indeed Allah has created the whole earth as a place of worship.

May Allah reward this brother and may Allah give us all the ability to pray on time, in its prescribed portion of the day. amin.

For the first time in human history a skyscraper completely collapsed due to fire. Well, that is the line, or should i say “lie” that the National Institute of Standards and Technology is going to feed us with soon.

looking at the video of WT7 collapsing the way it did we can surly not be duped by another lie, can we? (Remember the Pentagon being hit by an invisible plane?) No building in the history of mankind has ever dropped in that way except that it was a controlled demolition. It collapses straight down, surely if it was fire that caused it to drop, bits of the building would have fallen off but the structure would have, on the whole, remained the same. Scientist and engineers all deny that the temperature of burning fuel could not cause the steel to “melt” in such a manor. We are being fed lies!
