Update: Daniel Streich Converted Two Years Ago

It seems that the Swiss Politician Daniel Streich actually converted to Islam two years ago.  Contrary to my previous blog post, I have been informed by my eagle eyed readers that brother Daniel kept his conversion a secret for these years and felt that the policies adopted by his political party in Switzerland were too anti Islamic.  He decided to go public and announce his Islam when the ban on building minarets became too much for him.

This information comes primarily from this Jewish blog and by brother Jason Hamza van Boom

When writing my previous post I did read as much as  I could about this subject but didn’t find anything relating to this, in fact there isn’t that much information about him at all so I relied on other peoples blogs and forums.

The internet is awash with false information and I should have been more careful when diving in. I should of heard alarm bells ringing when I saw that picture of him sporting a beard…oops, missed that

If the initiative passes, it will be an absolute deep blow for me. I would have to ask myself, why I applied myself professionally and politically for over 30 years for this political system. In contrast, Switzerland urgently needs more mosques. It is not worthy of Switzerland to force Muslims to practice their faith in back alleys.”
