Allahumma inni asbahtu ush’hiduka wa ush’hidu hamalata ‘arshika wa malaikataka wa jami’a khalqika annaka Antallahu la ilaha illa Anta Wahdaka la shar?ka laka wa anna Muhammad-an ‘Abduka wa Rasuluk  (4 times)

O Allah ! As morning dawns upon me, I bear testimony before You and before the angels who carry Your Throne and all Your angels and all of Your creation that truly, You are Allah , there is no god but You, The One and Only God without any partner, and that truly, Muhammad is Your special devotee and Your Prophetic Messenger.

Allahumma inni asbahtu ush-hiduka. . .

Abu Daud narrated that Anas bin Malik said that the Prophet (pbuh) said:

“When one says, Allahumma inni asbahtu ushhiduka, wa ushhidu hamamalata ‘arshika… (until the end of the dua), Allah will free a quarter of him from the fire, and if he recites it twice Allah will free half of him, and if he recites it three times Allah will free three quarters of him, and if he recites it four times [Allah will] free him from the fire.”

Allah has made things so easy for us, something as so light on the tongue like this simple dua and yet it is filled with so much benefit.  It would be a shame not to commit this dua to memory and act upon it each day.  May Allah give us all the ability.  Amin.художник на икониИкони на светци

Antony Thomas made a documentary that was aired on Channel 4 early this week entitled “The Qur’an.” Many people will have formed different views regarding this programme. I, myself, only caught glimpses of this programme and the bits i did see i found quite annoying. That being said, many people have had good things to say about it.

Antony Thomas, the programme maker, is certainly an interesting person who has had a long “love for the Qur’an” that stretches back to his teenage days. Although he has this love in his heart for the Holy Qur’an he says he has never really considered converting to Islam.

I am a subscriber to the “Daily Mayo” podcast, Simon Mayo being one of my favourite radio personalities, and i was very interested to hear an interview with Antony Thomas about this documentary, his feelings towards Islam, Muslims and the Qur’an.

I found him very interesting, engaging and extremely honest in his approach to this documentary – even if i found some parts of the documentary annoying.

The Qasida Muhammadiyya is an ode praising the august qualities of our beloved Prophet Muhammad . The ode was written by Imam Sharaf al-Din al-Busiri, Allah sanctify his secret, famous for his “Ode of the Mantle”, Qasida al-Burda.

This is a really beautiful effort by a few fantastic brothers, one of them is a good friend of mine May Allah accept this noble effort. Amin

Shaykh Abu Yusuf Riyadh ul Haq gives a great scholarly speech about the controversial issue regarding Taraweeh. Many Muslims say that Taraweeh is 8 rakats whilst the majority of Muslims say that no, Taraweeh is in fact 20 rakats. Shaykh addresses this issue directly and brings forward proof that 20 rakats is the correct number.

This is a fantastic speech as it shows Shaykh’s amazing ability to relate the opinions of many companions and ullema of the past from memory.
