Shaykh Muhammad Al-Yaqoubi will inshallah be teaching the book muhammad messenger allah ash shifa qadiiyad l Ash Shifa of Qadi IyadAsh Shifa of Qadi Iyad beginning on the 24th May in Birmingham (see event calender)

I thought it would nice to share with you a small part of the book

Section 4: The signs of love of the Prophet, may Allah (SWT) bless him and grant him peace

Someone who has true love of the Prophet, may Allah (SWT) bless him and grant him peace, will manifest the following signs.

1) The first sign is that he will emulate him, apply his Sunna, follow his words and deeds, obey his commands and avoid his prohibitions and take on his adab in ease and hardship, joy and despair. Allah (SWT) testifies to that, “Say: if you love Allah (SWT), then follow me and Allah (SWT) will love you.” (3:31) 2) He will prefer what the Prophet, may Allah (SWT) bless him and grant him peace, has laid down as law and encouraged, over his own passions and appetites. Allah (SWT) said, “Those who were already settled in the abode, and in belief, before they came, love those who have emigrated to them and do not find in their breasts any need for what they have been given and prefer them to themselves even if they themselves are in want.” (59:9)

3) His anger against people will only be for the sake of the pleasure of Allah (SWT). Anas ibn Malik said, “The Messenger of Allah (SWT) said to me, ‘My son, if you can be without any grudge in your heart against anyone in the morning and evening, be like that.’ Then he added, ‘My son, that is part of my Sunna. Whoever gives life to my sunna has loved me and whoever loves me is with me in the Garden.’” (at-Tirmidhi)

Anyone who possesses this particular quality has perfect love for Allah (SWT) and His Messenger. Anyone slightly lacking in it is imperfect in his love, while not entirely devoid of it. The proof of this is in what the Prophet said about the man who was given the punishment for drinking. A man there cursed him and the Prophet said, “Do not curse him. He loves Allah (SWT) and His Messenger.” (al-Bayhaqi)

4) Another of the signs of love for the Prophet is to mention him often. Whoever loves something mentions it a lot.

5) Another is great yearning to meet him. Every lover yearns for their beloved.

When the Ash’arite clan came to Madina, they chanted, “Tomorrow we will meet those we love, Muhammad and his Companions!”

6) One of its signs is that as well as mentioning him often, someone who loves him will exalt and respect him when he mentions him and display humility and abasement when he hears his name. Ishaq at-Tujibi said, “Whenever the Companions of the Prophet heard his name after he died, they were humble, their skins trembled and they wept. It was the same with many of the Followers. Some of them act like that out of love and yearning for him, others out of respect and esteem.”

7) Another sign is love for those who love the Prophet and the people of his house and his Companions, both of the Muhajirun and Ansar, for his sake. Such a person will also be hostile to those who hate them and curse them. Whoever loves anyone, loves those he loves.

The Madrasa pt2

| Posted in Books, Travel |

Comments

The Madrassa has a massive library of some extremely important works and interestingly, many important works from scholars and laymen from the time of Muslim stack o books The Madrasa pt2 rule in Spain. It is said that when the Catholics were insanely murdering millions of Muslims in that most massive and disturbing of holocausts, the smoke from the burning of books could be seen from Morocco. The Spanish Catholics totally and utterly destroyed all things Muslim and to this very day Spanish education fails to teach the children about 800 years of Muslim life in Spain.

The madrasa has discovered and collected over the years many works that had not been destroyed and is now engaged in translating them to the benefit of the ummah and history. I have been told that some these manuscripts contain diaries of ordinary people at the time of the holocaust and inquisition and their feelings about it, it also paints a fascinating picture of how life was during this period.

poster Book: Compendium of Knowledge and Wisdom

There’s going to be a book launch of a translation of Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali’s phenomenal work “jami al-ulum wa-l hikam” (Compendium of Knowledge and Wisdom) on 7th July, at Friends house, Euston, London. Sheikh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi will be speaking, inshaAllah, as well as Mawlana Mohammad Akram Nadwi and some other ulema from UK’s Dar al-Ulums..

I have to say that the Jami is an exceptional book, if there is only one Islamic book you ever read, make it this one. It is an extraordinary commentary on Nawawi’s Forty Hadith, plus another 10 hadith, and Ibn Rajab carefully unpacks the knowledge contained in each one of them. Absolutely phenomenal.

final virtue jerusalam cove Virtues of Jerusalem: Ishmail Patel

Virtues of Jerusalem is a much awaited book detailing the sacredness of Jerusalem in Islamic history, theology and future prophesies. Classical sources have been used to present a wide range of information which explains why past and present Muslims revere this blessed city.

The city of al-Quds (Jerusalem) houses one of the holiest sites of Islam, the Al-Haram al-Sharif (al-Aqsa Sanctuary). The precincts of al-Aqsa have been used throughout the centuries as a place for worship, residence and meditation by many Prophets and their followers.

Many Quranic verses and the narrations of the Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) [saas] mention this sacred and blessed land. Al-Aqsa is also the site from which the Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) [saas] undertook his miraculous night journey to the heavens (al-Miraj). Al-Aqsa is the first qiblah (direction of prayer), the second house of worship built on earth and the only Masjid besides Ka’aba mentioned by name in the Holy Quran.

This book is essential reading for all Muslims and for all those who seek a better understanding of the struggle over Jerusalem today.

Virtues of Jerusalem: An Islamic Perspective provides:

referenced information from the Qur’an and ahadith
